Joe is a New England–based screenwriter and short film director influenced by filmmakers such as Kelly Reichardt, John Cassavetes, and Frederick Wiseman. Stylistically, he’s interested in slow cinema, cinema-verite, and naturalism, and seeks to make movies akin to the ones that inspired him.

He is currently collaborating with Slated on the development of his first feature film and studying at the Barrow Theater in New York City, with additional training through the Film Connection beginning next year.

His most recent short film, BENDER, was nominated for several awards and won Best Drama at the 2023 Open Gate Film Festival in Massachusetts.

Within supportive environments, Joe values hardworking and uplifting collaboration. He’s open to creating with artists who value the craft but look to encourage and support each other first.
